Damascus hand forged and Schrimshaw Puukko knife by Ben Browning. The blade is 2 5/8" the handle is Buffalo horn and Elk horn. Nickel Silver guard. OAL: 6 1/2". The blade was hand forged from 1095 and 15N20 high carbon Damascus steel which was also made by Ben Browning. It is differently tempered, which means that the edge is very hard and holds a very sharp edge while the spine is soft, making it durable. All the colors in the handle are completely natural, there were no dyes used. The sheath is worthy of the knife. A lot of work was put into making the sheath a beautiful counterpart to the knife, as is often the case on traditional Nordic knifes. It is a two part sheath with a solid buffalo horn bottom (with an antler pin) and a soft leather upper. The upper part is made of 6/7 oz vegetable tanned leather and is beautifully tooled. It has been dyed black and is completely hand stitched. It has also been treated with Obenauf's LP for durability.
