The handle is kind of yellow orange micarta accented with brass spacers and fittings. The handle is kind of interesting in that tapers down about 1/2 below the guard so the handle is not so thick. The knife does not look like its been used but does have some light sheath scratches and some very light peppering here and there. JOHN NELSON COOPER COOPER SOLD COOPER HEARN
Special order one of a kind skinner by John Nelson Cooper from the Cardinal Collection. The blade measures 6" X 1/4" with file work and its razor sharp. The handle is brownish red micarta with a grainy brown spacer. The fittings are brass and its has a #2 hilt which you don't see on many of his knives. OAL: 11 5/8".  The knife has never been used and is near mint with just a few light carbon spots and an eagle claw that looks like a carbon spot. Just to the lower left of his logo is a small eagle claw. I am not sure if he was trying a new style logo or what but it adds an interesting touch and is not harmful to the knife or its value. As with all of the knives from this collection this is the cream of the crop. It would be hard to find a nicer example. Zipper pouch included no sheath. The logo dates this knife as being made between 1968 and 1978. Vintage John nelson Cooper Comanche Model knife with original sheath. The blade measures 3.5". The handle is stacked micarta accented with brass and micarta spacers. The guard and pommel are heavy brass. OAL: 8". This beauty has never been used and is in mint condition. Vintage John Nelson Cooper Combat Dagger, Stiletto, Fighting Knife with riveted sheath. The double edge blade measures 8". The handle is brown micarta with brass spacers. Brass double guard and crown pommel. OAL: 12.75". This beauty has never been used and is near mint with just some light peppering. There is a picture of a similar knife in John Nelson Cooper book page 26 by Martin and Basch. The premium leather riveted sheath is in very good condition but does show signs of being carried. Possible Vietnam era knife as logo indicates the knife was made between 1968 and 1978.
Rare one of a kind John Nelson Cooper fighting knife. The blade measures 7.5" and has the Cooper in eagle logo. The handle is red and white micarta accented with brass fittings and spacers. What makes this knife different is that John used 3/16" thick steel which makes the knife a bit quicker. He also used a large white spacer instead of a thin one. And the guard is much large than his regular models. OAL: 13". Original riveted leather sheath. The knife has never been used and is near mint which just a few very hard to see specks. Vintage 1970's Bowie Knife by the late John Nelson Cooper. The blade measure 7.25" and still has the original finish. The handle is a brownish red micarta accented with brass spacer, double guard and crown pommel. OAL: 12.25". This knife has not been used and is near mint with just some light scratches and a couple small nicks or imperfections in the brass. That being said this is one of the cleanest 40 year old Cooper's I have seen lately nice knife no sheath. Zipper pouch included.

JODY SAMSON, JOHN NELSON COOPER JOHN NELSON COOPER JOHN NELSON COOPER
Jody Samson & John Nelson Cooper California Hunter Model Knife. The 5.75" x .25" blade has a partial double edge which is sharp. The handle is brown micarta accented with brass fittings. Jody Samson only made 2 California Hunters and they were the first knives he made using the new Logo the eagle with Cooper in the middle and Samson underneath. You will find this information in "John Nelson Cooper" Cooper Knives Book Two on page 66. I agree with the author William A. Martin that the Jody Samson Cooper Knives are the rarest of rare as you have 2 great knife makers names on one knife. OAL: 10.75". This is one heavy duty knife which looks like a Bowie knife. Awesome craftsmanship excellent fit and finish. The knife has never been used but has some light pitting on one side and some carbon spots not bad otherwise excellent condition. It also comes with the original custom leather sheath with logo on back. I will also include John Nelson Cooper Book 11 by William martin. This is a very rare knife as almost all of John's knives were made with only brass. Rare one of a kind special order fighter by John Nelson Cooper from the Cardinal Collection. This beautiful fighter has a 7.75" blade ground from 3/16" stock. The handle is dark brown micarta accented with brass and black spacers and a light brown spacer in the middle. With the use of stacked spacers and small black spacers it give the handle that stacked leather look very cool. The knife has a brass double gaurd and unusual vented crown butt cap.  OAL: 12 5/8". This knife has never been used and is near mint with only a few light carbon spots. The logo has been double stamped and I have seen a few this way. John would use a hammer to hit the stamp and sometimes he would miss or be off which would result in a very weak stamp so he would hit it again. Very unique vented crown butt cap makes this one a very collectible one of a kind. The knife comes with a premium zipper pouch no sheath. The Cooper in the eagle logo dates this knife between 1968 and 1978.

Vintage 1970's Massive Bowie Knife by the late
John Nelson Cooper. This knife looks like the model known as the "Cooper Bowie" but instead of the usual 8.5" blade this one is 10". Could be a one of a kind? The blade measure 10" by 1/4" and still has the original
finish. The handle is a brownish red micarta accented with brass spacers,
double guard and pommel. OAL: 15.5". This knife has not been
used and is IN EXCELLENT condition no sheath.

Rare Massive one of a kind Bowie knife by John Nelson Cooper. This massive 9" blade was ground from 3/8" thick steel and is over 2" wide and 15" long. This massive hunk of knife weighs 3.8 lbs. This is by far the cleanest Cooper knife we have ever had the pleasure to offer. The grind is clean and crisp with some very light peppering around the logo and top spine otherwise like the day it was made very minty. A special oversize zipper pouch had to be ordered to fit the extra wide 5" double guard. The handle is brown grainy micarta accented with brass fittings. This knife looks like a cross between the 1830 Bowie and the Robert Abels Bowie. The Abels Bowie is the only knife in the Cooper catalog with a 3/8" think blade. The s curve guard on this knife looks like the Guard on the 1830 Bowie model. As close to mint condition as you will ever find. Zipper pouch included.
Very rare 11" John Nelson Cooper Bowie Knife with plain Cooper logo. Another great knife from the Cardinal Collection. The blade on this beast is a little over 11" long and 2" wide. The handle is brown grainy micarta accented with brass spacers. The knife sports a large double brass guard and crown butt cap. OAL: 16". The plain Cooper Logo was the fist logo used when John moved to California. This knife was soaked in oil and sealed in plastic for many years and its almost impossible to find one in this mint original condition. The knife comes with a premium zipper pouch no sheath.
