Description
Massive rare one of a kind Bowie, Skinning, Hunting, Display Knife By John Nelson Cooper. Wow 1/2" thick by 7 1/2" long to the guard. What a grind and very sharp edge. The handle is grainy brown micarta accented with double brass guard and Eagle beak pommel. OAL: 14". This one of a kind is a cross between the California hunter and the Yucatan Skinner. It has the guard of the Yucatan and the handle of the California hunter. The blade design is similar to both. To give you an idea of how heavy it is the Yucatan Skinner with 1/4" thick blade weighs 16 ounces. This knife weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces. I believe it was made for display purpose because its way to heavy for the average Joe. John liked to make monsters now and then and keep them around the shop for display this was probably one of them. Its a really cool knife very hard to make so much work. The knife has never been used and is in excellent plus condition. No sheath will included a nice zipper pouch.
