Description   Von Hagen Knives Original Design Max Model by Richard Von Hagen Palmer. The 5.75" 01 oxidized tool steel blade has a bevel grind and false top edge not sharp. The handle is gorgeous Zircote with a blonde streak on top. The knife is hidden tang accented with brass guard. OAL: 9.5". If you notice the unique look of the blade. This blade has been oxidized with a burnt patina to help slow down the rust. This process etches the steel and makes the blade take on the appearance of Damascus. He also does his own heat treating. The blade has been edge quenched and triple temper to a rockwell hardness of 58/60. Richard named this model knife Max after his dog. Excellent fit and finish never used and in mint condition. Comes with the original quality leather sheath by Von Hagen with logo on back.
