Description
Very rare Gladiator Dagger with hand drawing, catalog, and picture of DE LEON. The 8" ATS-34 S.S. double edge blade was ground from 1/4" thick steel (very rare special order most were made in 3/16" stock). The handle is deep rich maroon micarta accented with brass double guard and pins. The knife is full tang accented with white liners and skull crusher. OAL: 13.25". The knife has never been used and is in mint condition with original leather sheath made by De Leon himself. I first met De Leon in 2001 at a show in Tulsa and we struck up a deal to carry his knives. We were the first to offer his knives on ebay and he was a big hit we sold over 500 knives. We also offer on our web site a few years after ebay. De Leon never owned a computer so he would send me hand drawings that were scaled to the correct size. I am including one of his framed drawings which shows a picture of this knife and 2 other GL models. I am also including a picture I took of De Leon at the Tulsa show back in 2001. Plus an old catalog with 4 pages of pictures of his different models. After we met in 2001 he quit doing shows as we keep him too busy. So I doubt if anyone today even knows what he looked like. And I am sure I have the only hand drawings of his knives period. De Leon did 2 tours of duty in Vietnam after returning home he partnered with Ralph Bone Knife Company before starting De Leon Knives where he made knives up until his death in 2015. I considered him a good friend and we miss him still.
