Description

Rare vintage 1970's drop point skinner made by W. C. Wilber from Spartanburg S.C. The knife was made for R. B. Hughes and was payment for the article on page 48 of "The Gun Digest Book of Knives". This knife was a design of R B Hughes which Bill did a scrimshaw scene of both Texas and South Carolina to make the connection between the two. He also put B R H on the blade with serial number 121 which is also on the sheath. Wilber knives are very rare since he only made knives for about 4 years in the mid seventies. Bill did outstanding work and was a innovator which inspired other knife makers in the area. The blade measures 3.75" with a mirror polish finish. The handle scales are the old discontinued Westinghouse ivory micarta accented with nickel silver guard, Loveless style pins, and scrimshaw. The knife is full tang construction. OAL: 8.25". Fantastic craftsmanship very clean work. This knife has never been used and is in excellent plus condition with original hand tooled sheath. I will also included the gun digest book of knives.
