Description

Rare Vintage 1968 Bianchi Cooper Fighting Knife handmade by John Nelson Cooper. The 7.5" blade has a mirror polish finish and is very sharp. The handle is made of deep dark maroon micarta with a dark brown micarta finger spacer. The double brass guard has the name B. Smit. engraved on it. The pommel does not look like brass looks more like copper. OAL: 12.25". Its hard to tell if the knife was used but it shows signs of being carried and it has been cleaned. There is some light peppering on the blade and some very small dings in the guard and pommel. The blade looks like it still has the original edge. The knife is very solid and in excellent plus condition. The knife comes with a leather sheath. I will also include copies of a letter from John Bianchi stating the fact that there were approximately 100 of these made. So the Cooper Bianchi logo is the rarest with only 100 ever made of this model.  Most Bianchi fighters went to soldiers during the Vietnam War. The name on the guard is probably that of a soldier.
